As a member of the HR Operations Team, the HR Manager is responsible for the efficient, accurate, compliant and timely processing of all HR operational tasks in their hub (cluster of markets). This is referring but not limited to all administrative HR tasks (day-to-day and periodically), projects, implementation and roll-out of new policies and procedures or new legal requirements. The HR Manager will continuously seek opportunities / build action plans to improve efficiency and productivity. For alignment with the company’s strategic approach the position holder will liaise with all HR Centers of Expertise and HR Business Partners EMEA. The HR Manager is acting as a Brand Ambassador in the hub by providing exceptional customer experience with their team, anticipating the customers’ needs by partnering with Line Managers and ensuring accessibility, quality results and professional advice to employees.

The responsibilities of the HR Manager include:
HR Operations
  • Ensure smooth, timely and accurate processing and delivery of all administrative HR tasks such as but not limited to contracts, forms, written references, absence tracking, exit papers
  • Ensure all required information is provided to internal and external customers, stake holders, business partners, work councils, authorities etc. in a timely manner and with excellent quality 
  • Ensure Line Managers understand the HR framework in the local market – e.g. HR policies and procedures, tools, legal requirements – and receive advice, coaching, training (where needed)
  • Monitor quality and quantity of work in the local HR team and actively seek opportunities for improvement by partnering with HR Managers from other Hubs, Centers of Expertise and HR Business Partners EMEA
  • Implement policies, procedures / processes or new documents when requested by Corporate HR and organize and facilitate trainings if needed
  • Support Line Managers in conducting and understanding more complex HR processes (e.g. Performance and Pay Review)
  • Coach Line Managers in conducting their role as people managers in line with the MK leadership expectations and if disciplinary actions are required they are in accordance with MK procedures and local law
  • Provide HRBPs comprehensive operational HR support Ensure local markets have MK Benefits and Healthcare (and pension) schemes in place.
  • Review / negotiate terms and conditions in partnership with legal department and Compensations & Benefits; manage employees’ set-up and opting-out accordingly
  • Ensure Corporate recruitment is managed properly by utilizing the support of Talent Acquisition and all new joiners receive a quality on-boarding Organize employee engagement events as per the EMEA Employee Engagement calendar and identify / negotiate local options for Corporate discounts for MK employees Participate in projects on European or global level
Team Management, Employee Relations and Labor Law
  • Develop the team by setting smart goals and milestones and actively support and encourage continuous learning
  • Keep knowledge about labor law changes up to date and act as the senior reference point for all ER issues in the hub; advise the management and the team in handling sensitive ER and legal issues properly
  • Manage claims and court cases by partnering with legal department and instructing external lawyers
  • Manage the relationship with employee representatives (work councils / unions) in a co-operative and constructive manner
                                         
Data accuracy / compliance and labor regulation control
  • Ensure the HRIS is accurately maintained and serve as a source of truth for the business and other departments
  • Ensure defined EU / global processes are followed properly and options for process / efficiency optimization are reported to the HR Operations Director
  • Ensure self-audits are conducted regularly and properly

REQUIREMENTS
  • 6/8 years of HR experience as a generalist with strong knowledge of labor regulations in the main market
  • Fluent English in spoken and written is mandatory for this role, plus an additional language, depending on the markets covered
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and capability to act at a senior level
  • Structured way of working, process thinking and solution orientation as well as a hands-on mentality, flexibility and “common sense” for a practical approach where needed
  • Proven track record for managing and leading teams or project groups
  • Team Player with confidence to work in international environments
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems is a must
  • Proven track record for successful talent acquisition and performance management
  • The ideal candidate is used to working in an international, fast-paced premium fashion retail environment with strong HR experience in field and corporate support
